And Sarah McLendon

Sarah McClendon was born in 1833, she married Jesse Carpenter in 1852 at Pike, AR. Jesse was born in 1815 in KY, and died in 1872 near Bonnerdale, AR. Jesse was the son of John Carpenter b. about 1786 i VA., and wife Sarah C. Foster born about 1790 TN.

Jesse and Sarah were the parents of seven children:

1. James Carpenter born 1854 m. a MS. Burroughs and Ms. Matlock.
2. Bob Carpenter Mary Simms
3. Marion Carpenter married Rosa Sheets
4. Elijah Carpenter 1857-1901 married Mary Tinny Hawk.
5. Matilda Carpenter born 1869 Montgomery Co. AR. married Lidge Sheets
6. Josephine Carpenter born 1860 AR. married Tom Whitted
7. Thomas Jefferson Carpenter born 17 May, 1855 Bonnerdale, AR. and died 30 March, 1928 AR. He married 6 June 1876 to Mary McGuire, daughter of William McGuire and wife Caroline D. Higgenbotham of MS. Thomas J. and Mary had twelve children.
