Samuel Lyons
Of Tombigbee, Alabama

Charles Samuel Lyons was born about 1780 and was living in Jackson Co. MS. in 1840. From Family Bible it states he died 23 March, 1842. Charles married Henriette "Ritta" Batiste the daughter of Pierre Baptiste and wife Margaritte Jacob.

Charles Lyons had a brother Amos Paul Lyons who married Rosile Ballard and lived in Herron Bay, AL. She was the daughter of Phelen Ballard and Mercy Havens. Mercy descended from the Haven family that moved to Jackson Co.

It appears that Charles and Henriette both had died by 1850. As their two youngest children, William and Tabitha are in the household with their sister, Margaret and her husband, Jesse Long in the 1850 Census of Jackson Co.

Henriette Batiste Lyons had a brother Bedo Batiste (Baptiste) who died in Mobile County, AL., about 1850 he had no children. His estate was being settled in the early 1853 and names his heirs and includes the children of Henriette and Charles Lyons.

Margaret Lyons first married Jesse Long then remarried 29 December, 1870 in Mobile, AL., to Charles A. Jellerson.

Austin Lyons born about 1820 in Mississippi. He is listed in the 1850 Census of Jackson Co. MS.

He married Amelia Graham

Amelia Graham Lyons is buried in the Old Robinson Cemetery in Escatawpa, MS. The cemetery no longer exist and only the sunken places in the earth tells of the once burial place. There were wooden headstone, but the time of wrath has taken toll. It is not known if Austin Lyons was buried in the same cemetery.

Margaret Lyons born 1853, died 1925. She married 25 December, 1878 to George W. Phillips.
Alabama (Bama) Lyons was born 1861 in Mobile Co. AL., and died 1949, probably AL. She married James Lawrence Overstreet, born 1855 and died 1942.

William Lyons was born in the 1780's. He married in Mobile, AL., 3 March, 1813 to Mary "Polly" Cole.
